Our Story
In 2021, Alicia and Theresa Baroun combined their passions for coffee, honey, and maple syrup to found Maple Buzz Cafe. The business is rooted in many years of maple syrup and honey production, as Maple Buzz.
In 2017, Maple Buzz was founded when a few friends had the idea of combining maple syrup and honey. This resulted in Maple Buzz partnering with Maple Sweet Dairy to use their quality maple syrup to make specialty products. Today, Maple Buzz produces a wide variety of maple and honey specialty products, including bourbon maple syrup, maple cream, and creamed honey. In just three years, Maple Buzz expanded from four products to twenty and increased from one beehive to six hives. The honey comes straight from the hive and is then only filtered to preserve the nutrients and other beneficial aspects of raw honey, such as pollen. After the friends parted ways Theresa and Alicia Baroun, the daughter and granddaughter of Don and Ev Van Deurzen, took over the business. Today, they work together to promote honey and maple syrup.
Alicia and Theresa Baroun will continue to promote honey and maple syrup by integrating the products into many of the cafe menu items.
Our Mission
Our mission is to keep life simply sweet one meal at a time. Maple Buzz Cafe is a place where people can stop by for locally sourced coffee and food. We created a place where people can meet for a quick cup of coffee or a bite to eat, while also enjoying the natural flavors of honey and maple syrup.
